Key Note Sessions with Allen Tappe to include:

Friday Evening: "Filling the Void: Embracing Conflict" -Dealing with our overwhelming tendency to avoid rather than embrace and learn from conflict

As support group and co-op leaders, we hope for smooth sailing, with little turbulence. Our opening session will take a look at our tendency to avoid conflict in both our professional and personal relationships, and we will challenge the wisdom of that life strategy.

Saturday Morning: "Defining Leadership"

-The who, what, and how of effective leadership

Our morning session is all about defining effective leadership. Allen will share valuable insight into the characteristics that make an effective leader and the best ways to apply those characteristics, in a practical fashion, to your role as a home school leader.

Saturday Afternoon: "Elements of Relationship"
-Good communication, reasonable expectations, and the benefits of change

Relationships are a vital component of successful leadership. This session will cover several elements crucial to healthy relationships. We will discuss effective communication, clarifying expectations, and how to handle change within your community, your support group, and your relationships.

Sunday Morning: "Practical Application for Today's Christian Leader"

-Balancing the leadership of your family, your home school, and your group

Knowledge is beneficial, but application is the key to success. Our Sunday morning session will bring together all that we have learned and guide us through the application of our knowledge as Christian leaders.

Leader - ducks
The Benefits of Training
Becky Ryan

I don't believe that anybody is a born leader. I do believe that some people are gifted and talented to be better leaders than others. And I'm quite certain that successful leaders have had no small amount of training. They have learned from good (and bad) leaders and from their own mistakes. They have attended leadership training, and they have probably read a book or two, or fifty, about leadership. To be effective, leaders need training. Why should home school group leaders be any different?
