Guard Your Coop A Note from Kay, THSC Leader Liaison
Several weeks ago, I mentioned the baby chicks my children were hatching. We (more specifically, I ) spent time daily turning the eggs and making sure the humidity level in the incubator was just right. We videotaped several of the chicks as they struggled to break free from their shells. One little cutie we named "Holly" because she hatched with such drama we felt certain she knew she was on camera-hence the name "Hollywood," or "Holly" for short. |

Social Waters
July's Question: I have recently started a new support group, and we are still very small. How can we get the word out about our plans for the fall?
______________________
June's Question: Our group is looking to make our meetings and our budget more professional. What format is the best to follow?
Answer: Most organizations use a system called "Robert's Rules of Order." Once your meeting guidelines are established, it is important to following the procedures consistently. For more on setting standards, see the THSC Leaders' Guide.
Email your reply to the question for July to leaders@thsc.org. If you have a question you would like to see featured in an upcoming Leader Letter, submit it to leaders@thsc.org. Together we will navigate the "social waters"!

Ready to Vote in the Runoff Elections? The primary runoff election is only a few weeks away, on July 31, and Texas voter turnout is expected to be lower than 5 percent. That means every vote cast will count for the other 19 people not voting. There are several high-profile races in Texas that will directly affect home schoolers. Please make the time to vote in this important election. If your group is interested in obtaining, free of charge, endorsement postcards from the THSC Political Action Committee to distribute to your membership, please reply to this message before Tuesday, June 26, indicating the total number of cards you would like mailed to you. Please also include the address to which you would like your endorsement cards sent. If your support group already receives the THSC REVIEW magazine in bulk mailings, we will automatically send our endorsement postcards to your group in the same quantities. If you would like to opt out of receiving the endorsement postcards, please notify us by the same date listed above. |
