January 1st is such a great day.......if you like starting new things, and I can't think of anything more important for starting the year off right, than spending more time in God's word.
Some of us will start new ONE YEAR BIBLES; reading a selected number of chapters each day, until you've read the entire Bible in one year.
Some of us will start new BIBLE STUDIES; dissecting God's word, little by little, and applying it to our lives.
And some will look for an INSPIRING DEVOTIONAL; one that you can open daily, for small amounts of time and savor the message inside.
All of these are great ideas and great ways to soak up God's word, but if you're looking for something a bit different, I want to suggest this...

Many times families who are adopting through CPS are forced to place the adoptive child or children in the public school system even if they intend to home school once the adoption is final. One of our member families found themselves in this exact situation with a special needs child they are in the process of adopting.
Tim wrote a letter to the CPS employee involved in this particular case to educate him on CPS's policies regarding home schooling as a valid option and to reinform him regarding an avenue for adoptive parents to seek a waiver that would allow them to home school prior to the finalization of the adoption.
