Feature Field Trip Idea

I am in "Luv" with Thomas Edison!

~ Debbie Slaughter

Student at Thomas Edison Museum

Today was a great day in homeschooling! On the spur-of-the-moment, I decided to take Collin on a field trip to the Thomas Edison Museum in Beaumont and we loved it!

At first glance, it seems really small and not too exciting like some museums these days - you know - with all the hands-on gadgets. However, this is a true museum, not of entertainment, but of knowledge and that takes a lot of reading!

And now........I'm in "luv" with Thomas Edison! Well, at least his mind!

Letter to the Attorney General

Tim Lambert

Home schools have been determined by the courts of Texas to be private schools. According to Texas Family Code §154.002, child support may continue beyond the age of eighteen through high school graduation if the child is a full-time student pursuing a high school diploma in a private school.

One of our members was unable to resolve an issue with the Attorney General's office on this point, so she contacted us requesting help to ensure that her child received child support until he graduated high school.

Read the letter Tim sent to the AG's office.
